Anti-Bullying Day 2025 - Friday 28th Nov.
A chairde, as per the Nov./Dec. newsletter posted last week, our School Council have requested that we mark the Anti-Bullying event held every November by having a non-uniform day on Friday and taking part in a full day of lessons based around the theme of Anti-Bullying. We will enjoy extra play time to help us connect with our friends, run/walk a Daily Mile to get active whilst having a chat together and maybe if we can squeeze it in, watch a movie to explore the themes of isolation, ridicule and the impact our actions can have on others.
All in all it promises to be a fun day, thanks to the School Council's excellent ideas, and we hope every pupil take something positive from the day.
The messaging we will deliver to the pupils is threefold;
1. Be a Force For Good - Be the one who acts in a kind, gentle, caring and compassionate way. In essence - live out our School Charter to it's fullest.
2. Be a Hero - If you see someone being left out or isolated, or you know of something that's happening to make others sad, then speak up for them or offer to be their friend. Don't ignore it and stay silent! And finally;
3. Speak Out to Stay Safe (in line with NSPCC messaging) - Speak out and seek help if you are feeling sad, lonely, isolated or hurt in any way yourself. There are people at home, in school and of course Childline etc. that you can turn to for help.
Some of our P6s have already worked on Anti-Bullying messaging (inspired by the stories of some very famous superstars) and we've added few of their posters here for you to see. There'll be lots more to share on Friday once all classes complete their lessons.
Go raibh maith agaibh,]
