🌳 🍎 Autumn and Apple Fun in Primary 1! 🍎 🌳
This week the children loved getting their wellie boots on and heading up to our orchard area to pick plums and apples from our fruit trees. We used the apples to print an apple frieze and we washed the other fruit in the water tray. We also enjoyed an apple tasting session and recorded our results to show if we liked the different apples, if we thought they were ok or if we didn’t like them.
We also used items from nature to make autumn faces to combine our World Around Us topics, All about Me and Autumn.
To develop our fine motor skills to help prepare us for writing, we played ‘Pass the Apple’. We had to use pegs to pass an apple around our circle of friends. We had to open and close the pegs to pass the apples. It was a bit tricky. Mrs McKee also gave us two pieces of paper, one for our left hand and one for our right hand. We had to scrunch up and the flatten out each piece of paper using just one hand - no cheating. It was super tricky but good fun!
