The boys and girls enjoyed a fabulous day out at the Ballyhegan Davitt's pitch last week as the school hosted the first Cumann na mBunscol blitz of the year.
Yet again the club men and woman of the Davitt's were immensely helpful in providing us with the use of their facilities as well as volunteering to referee and setup the pitches.
Over 100 pupils from 5 different schools, (St. Peter's Collegeland, St. Oliver Plunkett's Ballyhegan, St. Mary's Maghery, Presentation Portadown and Ballyoran Primary School) came out to take part in playing Gaelic football and having fun playing against other schools.
Each child in attendance played in every game and there were four pitches running simultaneously. All in all there were over 32 games of football played and the standard was amazing. Not only that but the behaviour displayed by everyone made for a wonderfully enjoyable morning.
A huge word of thanks to all the teachers and coaches for bringing the pupils out and to Ciara for very generously supplying the refreshments at lunch.
