Eco Fashion Show

29th Mar 2018

The talent of the pupils in St. Oliver Plunkett’s P.S is always on display, whether in be through their hard work, fantastic behaviour or individual achievements.

During Holy Week we saw this talent highlighted to a new level. Our After School Eco Club pupils have been busy upcycling clothes that they thought were too old or too plain to wear anymore. They used fabric markers, jewels, ribbons, materials etc and let their creativity flow. As a result, they designed individual and unique clothing, giving their ‘old’ clothing a fabulous makeover.

After the clothing was complete, we needed the pupils’ hard work to be seen, so a fashion show was organised. The pupils involved, transformed from designers to models. They paraded the catwalk showing off their designer masterpieces to a very appreciative audience.

The photos below show the clothing before our designers set to work. The movie exhibits snippets from our eco friendly fashion show as well as the disco which completed our morning activities.

This event was a huge success. Well done to all involved and you never know, one of our designers/models may be ‘the next big thing in fashion’.

Remeber - before you stop wearing an item of clothing, try recycling other materials to upcycle your clothing to give it a new look.
