Halloween Spooktaular

28th Oct 2023
We had a wonderful week in school gearing up for our Hallowe'en spooktacular Disco and the children in every class loved participating in all the Hallowe'en themed lessons and events that were held during the week. It was an immensely busy week but one that helped catch the imagination of every child and we hope they all now have a restful, relaxing and safe holiday this coming week. Check out the fabulous photos below of all the events and a special word of thanks to everyone who helped make this week such an enjoyable one for all the children. Some special thanks goes to;

1. Thank you Caroline and your colleagues at Gilfesh for the amazing gesture of delivering a free pumpkin to every child in school. The children are pictured below receiving their pumpkins and they also loved the colouring poster that you sent in. There's also a lovely video of the art entries below.
2. Well done to all the boys and girls for their behaviour and attention during the safety talks delivered on Thursday as part of our Preventative Curriculum. We spoke about road and pedestrian safety as well as ways to responsibly celebrate Hallowe'en in our local community. This also involved a firework safety talk!
3. Thank you to everyone who attended last night's Hallowe'en spooktacular disco and for making it such a huge success. The children had a fantastic evening and that is down to the brilliant work of Owen our DJ and the parents/guardians of the fabulously supportive 'Friends of St. Oliver Plunkett's PTA'. As noted earlier in the week, all proceeds from this year's PTA events will go towards purchasing the last two Interactive Whiteboards needed for P5/6 and P6/7 - so all and any help that you can give is always welcome.
4. If you want added to the PTA Whatsapp group then message sgalvin550@c2ken.net directly and I'll ensure you are added in to help with future events.
5. And last but not least, a huge thanks to every member of the St. Oliver Plunkett's school community for making this term so far such a huge success. The staff have been brilliant all term and are looking forward to a well-deserved break and of course the pupils are - as always - an absolute credit to our community. A huge thank you to them all for their wonderful work so far this year!

Go raibh maith agaibh agus beannachtaí na Samhna oraibh go léir!
