It’s freeeeeezzzzzzing in Primary 1

22nd Jan 2019

Winter has arrived and the Primary 1 classroom has been transformed in to an Arctic Polar Region. Pupils have loved dressing up as Polar Bears, Penguins and Inuit people. They have been exploring cold colours during art and also in the Science Area along with investigating different textures. Other 'cold' activities we are currently engaged in are sorting for Hot and Cold, penguin jigsaws and games, the Arctic Small World areas and making igloos from junk art.

During maths pupils have been investigating weight at the weight table and finding items that are heavy and light. Some children have even discovered items that made the scales balance. Pupils have also been using Cuisenaire to explore the numbers 1 - 7. This along with our RM Easimaths, prove that we have wonderful 'mathletes' in Primary 1.

We are very proud to announce that Primary 1 received the 'McKee Maths Cup' for getting the most answers correct, first time in RM Easimaths in the month of December.

Happy 5th birthday to Ryan who celebrated his big day in January.
