Music Lessons in Primary 1 and 2

11th Mar 2026

P1/2 have been delighted to welcome Mrs Hendron for their weekly music lessons. This term, the focus has been on bright and uplifting spring-themed music.

The children have been exploring rhythm and developing their musical skills while learning new songs, including the popular “Five Little Speckled Frogs.” They also took part in an exciting body percussion performance inspired by Vivaldi’s “Spring.” Using claps, taps, and stamps, the pupils worked together to keep the rhythm and bring the music to life.

To make the performance even more dynamic, the children later incorporated a variety of percussion instruments. This encouraged them to listen carefully to one another and focus on their timing to ensure the piece worked together as a group.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed discovering the different sounds each instrument could make and experimenting with how they could enhance the music. We are all looking forward to the next lesson with Mrs Hendron!
