Penguin Ice Eggs
The Arctic explorers in P.1 decided to investigate penguins hatching along with some ice. As a class, they worked together to make ice eggs using balloons, penguins, a funnel, a jug and water. When they were ready, pupils put them in freezer for a long 24 hours.
The next day the ice eggs were ready. After we peeled the balloons off, we handled the eggs and pupils used words to describe how they felt - cold, melty, drippy, hard, freezing. We gave the penguins their own unique names - Bob, Cecil, Gertrude and Delilah π and we put them in different areas of the school to see which egg would βhatchβ first.
We hope you enjoy our video which concludes with the findings of our experiment.
