Spring Has Sprung in Primary 1

23rd Mar 2019

It is officially Spring in Primary 1 which is perfect as we embark upon our new WAU topic, Spring on the Farm and Minibeasts.

We have been making the most of the brighter weather by moving our morning play from the classroom to the outside (weather permitting). Pupils have been making great use of Construction Area, Sand House, Farm Shp/Cafe and the bicycles.

We had a special visit from some of our P.7 pupils during inside play. They were very impressed with the imaginative ideas from the P.1 pupils during their play.

As part of our Farm play, Primary 1 pupils made their own Tuff Tray Farm using different cereals. The pigs and piglets have been rolling around in the ‘Coco Pops’ mud. The other animals have been in the ‘Corn Flakes’ corn fields with some Shredded Wheat as hay bales. Shreddies and Porridge Oats have also been used to create different textures and surfaces on the Farm.

Primary 1 pupils enjoyed planting sunflowers and we are super excited to watch them grow.

To end a busy week, pupils made Farm Animal and Minibeast Poppers. We had so much fun letting them pop all over the classroom.

We hope you enjoy our photos and mini news report.
