St. John the Baptist's Primary School Blitz

24th Sep 2023

The boys and girls of P6 and P7 enjoyed their first outing of the year taking part in the St. John the Baptist's Primary School Gaelic tournament on Friday. The now annual event is always a wonderful way to kick off the football season and this year's event was as enjoyable as ever. Firstly, a huge thanks to Mr. McAleenan, Miss. Gervin and everyone at the College for the invitation to take part and for looking after everyone so well!

Having entered teams in both the Shield and Cup competitions, the boys and girls of St. Oliver Plunkett's displayed amazing skill and effort to reach both respective finals. Unfortunately, we met very strong and determined opposition in the shape of St. Anthony's, Craigavon and St. Jarlath's, Blackwaterown who both pipped us to the win but we are all immensely proud of our pupils' efforts and we know that a very successful year lies ahead.

Pictured are both panels before the blitz and at the medal ceremony afterwards.

Well done once again to everyone and we look forward to our next outing very soon.
